This is the sole Convair XF-92 (Model 7-002) 46-682 w/ Sam Shannon & Bill Martin (initial Convair test pilots) @ Muroc Field ca. Sep '48. It was the first delta winged jet to fly. Initially meant to be a very fast point defense interceptor, it was tested with a number of Allison jet engines until retired in Oct. '53. Data from these flights lived on in the Convair Interceptors (Delta Dagger & Dart). Now preserved in the R&D Gallery at the NMUSAF in Dayton, OH.
