  Mercer Airlines DC-6, N901MA (c/n 36326), built as the prototype for the DC-6 family as the Douglas YC-112A. This aircraft would be lost with the lives of three of the six people aboard on February 8, 1976, when it crash landed near Van Nuys Airport (VNY / KVNY).
