    Based on the tail number NC 14716, this plane is a Martin M-130. The name of the plane is "China Clipper". This is the exact plane that was used by Pan American for its first nonstop transpacific flight from Treasure Island to Honolulu in November, 1935.

    The single narrow float points toward Curtiss (or a copy thereof) - not all of the various versions were well photographed and there is at least one I know they had no photos of in the books on Curtiss I have read.
