This Orion made a hard landing at NASMF in 1984 and became a ground trainer, then when NASMF was disestablished, she went on display outside Ops.

My first flight as Navy aircrew, was in VP-10 SP-2E 131408 on a 10.8-hour patrol on Dec 30 1964, (to get my FIRST FLIGHT SKINS!), as a trainee Radio Operator. Patrol in cold wx, landed on icy runway, did a 180-degree ground loop, Plane Captain was Leading Chief ADRC John Sweeney. He called Duty Office for crew transportation, had aircraft towed back to flightline.
