Aircraft Accident

Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King 152120 HS-6 ‘Indians’ Modex 502 Code NS of CVGS-53 assigned to CVS-14 USS Ticonderoga. “Zapped” by the Royal Canadian Navy with red maple leaf emblems stuck on its nose and the front number altered from ‘502’ to read ‘508’ or ‘50B’. An indication of perhaps having being in contact with a Canadian military organization. The naval vessel with the hull number 19 was the then brand new USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) who’s homeport was San Diego, California. So this will be Naval Base North Island. Cannot find online info about the incident other than this Flickr post: live.staticflickr.com/8473/8091632564_ae4feca910_b.jpg SH-3A Sea King 152120 HS-6 ‘Indians’ Modex 502 Code NS of CVSG-53.
