He was an important councillor to Henry VIII and Lord Chancellor from October 1529 to 16 May 1532." However, this portrait is not very simlar to the well known portraits.

    Hello there, I really like your wonderful stream of old illustrations, this is a gem on flickr. However, I think that this picture does not stem from where you say it is from. The subtitle reads The most beautiful German folk songs, also the signature hints on a different illustrator than the one quoted by you, even the costumes of the dancers hint to a German background, so Sicily is probably not involved here. Still, thank you for sharing those beautiful finds with us.
