Certain photos are more interesting than others since they can be frozen in time a bit more specific than others. This Brougham must have been sent to Oz by vessel no doubt together with its sister c/n 92 It was registered on 10.10.1928 to T E Rofe, Sydney and on the 30th that month started on a journey to England. It must have passed Dum Dum in early November that year. Unfortunately it was not a successful flight since it crashed on take off from Athens on Nov 26th..., due, perhaps not enough offerings to the old Greek Pantheon.... Stig

In the foreground of this photo is Ryan B-1 Brougham, NC7212 (c/n 159), one of a handful of Broughams rebuilt as "Spirit of St. Louis" replicas by Paul Mantz for the 1955 Billy Wilder directed film "The Spirit of St. Louis," starring Jimmy Stewart. The aircraft was also flown by Charles Lindbergh. The aircraft is currently is on exhibit in its "Spirit of St. Louis" guise at the Cradle of Aviation Museum at Mitchel Field on Long Island.

This is the fin from the MGM Brougham taken by me, Tim Kalina, back, around 1977 at Martin's home in San Diego. At that time I owned this piece or fabric.

Sorry, I meant to write the starboard rudder fabric.

And that's Martin Jensen holding the fabric.
