The Pick Sisters

    Actually, these are not children at all! They are the Pick Sisters, who performed in Vaudeville as part of the "Kasemann Midgets". Another photo of them in the same outfits can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/79915086@N08/9076717269 The Flickr member who owns that photo is the son of Herr Kasemann who assembled the troupe, and brought them to the USA from Germany. He has a wonderful collection of photos from that era, well worth exploring if one has an interest in Vaudeville.

    Indeed! Nice catch. There are other photos in the Springer collection from the New York-based Lumiere studio but we don't have any further information about it.
