    Info from Joe Baughers website has this aircraft as being lost in 1944 which is probably wrong. 44-72253, P-51D, (354th FS, 355th FG, 8th AF, "Big Gas Bird") collided in midair with P-51D 44-14346 and crashed 3 mi E of Sudbury, UK Jun 2, 1944. Pilot survived, but aircraft was destroyed. Joe Baugher probably wrong as American Air Museum in Britain has the date as Jun2 1945.
