    Given that the Ensign marks the centre line of the vessel, and the distance from the deck to the waterline is very low, I'd suggest that this is not the Sydney, maybe more a destroyer?

    Using the figure in view as a scale, it looks like the beam is around 20ft. Is the figure holding a firing line for the depth charge thrower? There is a gun platform aft, then two canvas covered platforms forward of that.
