    I wonder if the date at bottom right is "Jan[uary]" rather than "Jun[e]" ? Would you bother to shorten June by one letter? 25 January 1866 was a Thursday 25 June 1866 was a Monday

    Are there 12 individuals or are some of them the same person in different poses? Are they all perhaps from one family? Or maybe it's the base layer for an early publicity flyer - "Come get your photograph taken - you too could look like this - The Wonder of the Age", etc...
