Some of the above attribution is incorrect: The landscape architect was Jacques Greber; Horace Trumbauer was the architect of the mansion itself. The construction of the house and gardens was started by George and Eleanor Widener; George perished in the sinking of the Titanic, and Mrs. Widener (who was rescued) completed the project, later remarrying Dr. Alexander Hamilton Rice - hence the two "creator" names above.

Stored until 1973 when converted to tanker by HVFS with CDF prototype tank design. Retired to Hemet by 1987, stripped for parts and scrapped by 1987.

One of many sold off that year to Allied Aircraft Sales, Tucson AZ. Subsequently scrapped and salvaged.
