The exhibition aims to explore Captain Cook’s voyages of discovery, as well as the exchange of ideas and experiences around travel and exploration and investigate key questions around the history of art, science and exploration and what this means today, drawing on George Stubbs’ Enlightenment era paintings of a kangaroo and dingo, recently acquired by the National Maritime Museum. May 1804: "S. 24 leitet er das Wort Illyrier, oder, wie er's ausgesprochen haben will, Hillyrier, vom Slavichen hirli, herli, oder hrli (behend, geschickt zu schnellen Unernehmungen), ab, weil Livius sage lib. 31: 'Illyriorum velocitas ad excursiones et impetus subitos usui est.' Vom nämlichen Wort hrli stamme das griechische und lateinische ??, das deutsche Herr, das nordische Earl, sogar der Name Karl her. S. 34 will der Vf. die Höhle der Aesculapischen Schlange gewiss wieder gefunden haben, am Berge Suiesnitza. Zu der ersten Abtheilung gehören auch die fechs Kupfer, wovon das erste den Bembel oder den illyrischen Silen, das zweyte einen ragusanischen Soldaten, das dritte die Tracht der Weiber am Kanal bey Ragusa, das vierte den Turizza oder den illyrischen Mars, das fünfte den Cioroje oder illyrischen Bacchus, das sechste die Vila oder illyrischen Diana vorstellt."
