Excerpt from the article in March 19 edition of the The Toronto World: "In the route March thru the city the troops covered close to eleven miles and marched upon nine different streets. These streets were chosen so that the march would be approximately on a square thru the city, with the idea of permitting the citizens residing in the outskirts to view the parade without having to come down town and mingle with the crowds, which were occasioned by the visitors in the city, of whom it was estimated there were 25,000, making close to a total of 100,000 people who viewed the event."
