    Pre-production prototypes of the GLCM TEL, starting in 1980, were towed by the German produced MAN tractor, an all wheel drive, high mobility tractor selected to be able to tow either the TEL or the Launch Control Center (LCC) from a MOB to a dispersed site. The equipment box located at the front of the TEL contained a turbine powered generator and a suite of computerized mission control and power conditioning equipment necessary to link the 4 missiles in each TEL to the LCC via a fiber optic cable.
