Perhaps an explanation is needed here. This is not a Vega but an Altair built after the single-engine production had already stopped, by a company known as Vega Co. Of course Robert Reedy knew all this, but the casual browser of SDASM site just might be a bit puzzled. It was given the name 'Flying Test Stand' and either it was not yet painted when the photo was taken or the name was carried only in spirit.... Stig

Actually an Altair when seen here (conversion to Altair finnished 29 May 1931 when it also got its restricted reg NR15W). Owner was James Goodwin Hall and he crashed the aircraft later that same year (29 Sep). Stig
