According to the Statutes of Henry VI (1458) a market had been held in Kildare ‘from time whereof memory runs not,’ and an official weekly market, to be held on Thursdays, was authorised by Henry VIII in the Charter of Kildare of 1515

Anybody recognize the 4th and 8th car on the right ? I think the line is Renault 4, Mini, Mercedes Benz, ??, Ford Anglia, Renault 10, Ford Escort, ??, Triumph Herald, Ford Transit ...

The building which we see looking down Exchequer Street, which now blocks the view of the castle in Sharon's streetview is Castle House. Revenue had offices here from the mid 1970s. It's main tenant is now Dublin Business School. I always understood that this brutalist lump opened in around 1975. But here we seemingly see it under construction a few years earlier. (Or maybe we're seeing hoardings around the demolition site of what went prior? Or the so called Stamping Building further behind?). EDIT: On the cars, beachcomber australia my gut reaction was that #4 is a Mk II Ford Cortina.
