    May 1975. On the quay side at NAS North Island San Diego California. One of the air wings biggest aircraft being craned aboard aircraft carrier CV-63 USS Kitty Hawk. During final preparations for its tenth consecutive WESTPAC deployment. USS Kitty Hawk sailed on May 21, 1975. Grumman E-2B Hawkeye 151706 VAW-114 ‘Hormel Hogs’. Tail code NH of Carrier Air Wing ELEVEN CVW-11. Side number was 604. E-2B Hawkeye 151706 was transferred out from VAW-114 as replacement E-2B 151719 was received from VAW-115 on October 5, 1975. In fact the entire VAW-114 inventory was swopped out during September and October 1975. It was finally retired to MASDC on 21 April 1983. Assigned inventory code AN2E010, and was last noted in Nov 2008. Since scrapped and salvaged by HVF West, Tucson AZ.
