October 1956 change of command ceremony at NAS Moffett Field CA. Between July 1955 & July 1957 VF-154 flew the FJ-3 Fury. The squadron missed its deployment with CVG-15 on CVA-18 USS Wasp due to compressor problems with the FJ-3s engines It then transitioned to the Navy's first operational supersonic carrier aircraft, the F8U-1 Crusader.
