F2A-3 - lengthened firewall. CDR J.C. Clifton in flight near Miami Municipal Airport (background, left), looking south-southeast; Master Field, adjacent to Municipal, is blocked from view by Clifton's right wing. During the war, the three fields in the NAS Miami complex were known simply as "Mainside" (Opa Locka), "Master" and "Municipal."

Edward Caggiano It doesn't look like we do. All of our F2A images have been digitized and are on this fickr site, and I didn't see any cockpit shots :(

For 1/144 scale, the differences between an F2A-3 cockpit and earlier variants would be indistinguishable - other than the fact that -3 "guts" were Interior Green vs. earlier model inards being Silver lacquer.

Canopy bracing and the ventral window arrangement makes it more likely an F2A-2.
