Not a Hunter. This is the sole Hawker P1081, VX279. It took the front fuselage and wings of the swept wing P1052 and replaced the rear fuselage with a straight through jetpipe, rather than the split one similar to that used by the Sea Hawk, and swept tail surfaces, It first flew 19 June 1950, and was destroyed in a fatal flying accident 3 April 1951.
