  Jason Hook tells a story how he and Doug Buchanan were students in Grade 10 at NAEC in Cloyne in 1977. Both were in the history class led by Karen Hughes (now Karen Fleming). As a history project Jason and Doug decided to invite Dave Trumble as guest speaker to the class. The morning of the class, Jason rode his Honda 350 motorcycle to Dave's home in Northbrook and transported him on the back of the motorcycle to the school in Cloyne. Dave gave quite a speech and the project was a success. Miss Hughes was quite upset that Dave rode on a motorcycle at his age and insisted Doug drive Mr. Trumble back to Northbrook in his car. Jason and Doug received good marks on the project. Mr. Trumble would have been approximately 109 years old at the time (give or take).
