These are such beautiful images, and the book has such a great history. I'm very happy to have had an opportunity to see this. Is this book available for purchase, or is a reprint likely?

Cystoseira granulata has been reduced to synonymy by Cystoseira nodicaulis See: www.algaebase.org/search/species/detail/?species_id=93

Agreed! 20, 24, and 30 inch monitors are now very common and the reduced image size is an issue when using monitors that large. These are the most compelling (to me) of the NYPL's initial Commons contribution and I would *LOVE* to see them at a size where the fine detail can be appreciated.
