    I think the birth date should be 1889 not 1899. His Canadian records state born 9 March 1889, father Arthur R. Vizard (although the 1891 and 1901 UK Censuses give it as 1891).

    Looking again at the 1891 UK Census, he is definitely listed as being one month old. (The Census was taken on 5 April 1891). He has an older brother Arthur W.J. Vizard, who is listed as 2 years old. I wonder if Ernest 'borrowed' his brother's birth date for some strange reason. I know boys often put their ages up to get accepted in the forces but there was no need in this instance.
