Wow.... it brings a sense of humility and a breath of life to it to see the sleeping cat against the wall behind him. It really brings things into perspective. In times of war, some things remain the same.

Detail from thePeerage.com, page 31665: William Hamo Vernon, b. 16 Jul 1895; the fourth of 7 children, (3 brothers and 3 sisters), to William Allen Vernon and Elizabeth Vernon (Marson). Brothers Herbert (Sedbergh) [Lt], Reginald (Bradfield) [Capt], and Wilfred (Sedbergh and Trinity Cambridge) [Lt], all served in the RFC / RAF, all survived the War and all lived into their 80s. Lt Vernon’s Medal Card is on the National Archive database, WO 372/20, but does not enhance the detail already provided. 4th Battalion The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) was a Transport Battalion serving on the Somme in October 1916 when Lt Vernon was reported missing.//
