Indeed - I have to second Wendy:'s summary here. Used to drive past this every day for some years. And used to watch and read with increasing annoyance how it went down hill. In fact, downhill very quickly. P&T/Eircom maintained it pretty well until 2000ish. Over the next 15 years however it was (is?) nearly completely ruined. It was sold to a developer in 2005. However, it remained disused. And somebody stole the lead from the roof. Leading to significant water damage over the coming 5 years. By 2010/2011 there was so much damage that the council ordered emergency repairs - which at least helped slightly. But then in 2013 suspected arson nearly destroyed it completely. An Taisce now lists it with a condition of "very poor" and a risk level of "critical". A Jan 2016 summary of the recent history and current outlook doesn't make for positive reading....

Archiseek page is quite good with close-ups of the Stratford coat of arms and date (see notes), and also photos of the sad interior - archiseek.com/2010/1803-aldborough-house-portland-row-dub... . It seems the building has never been loved.
