The bayonet is for the M1870/87 Vetterli-Vitali rifle, these very poor quality rifles were received from Italy in the fall of 1916 to replace the M 1879 Martini-Henry rifle which was still issued for some auxiliary troops and some militia battalions, however, it seems that Romanian soldiers preferred the latter. In the interwar period these bayonets were slightly modified in order to be fixed at the Romanian rifle Mannlicher Model 1893. PS. I have one such bayonet in my collection (unfortunately no scabbard). :)
