Hi, I'm an admin for a group called El mundo en bicicletas, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Italian Bersaglieri at the beginning of WW1 (1915 for Italy) when they were still wearing their traditional leather hat with feathers even in the field, later they were issued with French Adrian helmets, adorned with the traditional feathers.

this is probably a bersagliere, belonging to a very mobile offensive italian corp created by Luigi Camillo Natali before WWI. Later, they moved from bikes to motorcycles. One of the most famous (if not THE most famous) bersaglieri was Enrico Toti: a great cyclist, he lost a leg but decided to take part in WWI anyway, riding his bike with just one leg. When his battalion was attacked, he responded to the attack. He was wounded several times in a row, and threw his crutches at the enemy screaming "Non muoro io" (I won't die). He died at Monfalcone in 1916.

Looks like more than a regular grooming. I would suspect treating for lice or such.
