Um Ljósmyndasafn Reykjavíkur Ljósmyndasafn Reykjavíkur er eina sjálfstætt starfandi ljósmyndasafnið á landinu. Markmið safnsins að er skapa sér sérstöðu og vera leiðandi á sínu sviði. Safnið varðveitir ýmis myndasöfn frá atvinnu- og áhugaljósmyndurum. Um er að ræða 5-6 milljón ljósmynda frá tímabilinu um 1880 til 2000.

    Lengst til vinstri í miðröð er amma mín Margrjet Þórðardóttir frá Akureyri, fædd þar 21. febrúar 1891. Hún starfaði hjá Verslun Egils Jacobsen í Reykjavík á ofangreindum árum. Mig minnir, að hún hafi sagst hafa fylgst með hátíðahöldum við Stjórnarráðið 1. desember 1918. Skyldi myndin hafa verið tekin í saumastofu verslunarinnar? Myndin birtist ásamt fleirum í dagblaðsgrein um Ljósmyndasafn Reykjavíkur, líklega 2013. Kv/Tómas Björn Ólafsson.
